I is on a roll!

I is very very happy. I somehow managed to get whatever I've always wanted in a span of a week. Firstly, I got my first A ever for a block test then the principle made a special exception for me to go for the Germany trip. On top of that, I managed to get into the ESP programme....thanks to the principle of course. I think I should thank her and Mrs Loh a lot. Too bad Jonana couldn't go for the trip though. It would be so awesome to have her as company. *sigh*

I booked my NS medical checkup on the 18th of June. The online registration sucks like crap. You give so much money to MINDEF only to come up with a crappy online registration thingy. So neh neh. Bleah I dont look forward to NS. It's practically slavery. *prays hard that I become a clerk that is able to go home everyday*

Spoke for MIDC today as the first speaker. We were given a very idiotic motion. "This house believes that governments in the developing world should ban sex tourism". To my suprise, I spoke rather well. I was able to stay clam and composed and handled the POI by the neh neh SJI International rather well I think. Anyway YJ lost in the end and that together with 2 ealier loses means that we're out of the competition. We were orginally placed 9th and then we fell to 17th after losing to JJC. How demoralising is that! I felt that we should have won the debate with PJC and JJC though. It's so unfair. They always give us the crappy adjudicators that don't adhere to the correct way of marking. :( Oh well at least it was rather fun. The best part is that we are now free from debates! No more staying back in school everyday till 7! I definitely look forward to that. Finally I'm able to reach home in broad daylight and get some rest before I start mugging.

Today was Penny's birthday celebration too! Happy 18th Birthday Penny Anne Sunflower! We went to NYDC and I had like this really nice lasagne. I always thought that the food at NYDC is mediocre but obviously I was wrong lol. 1st May is coming up soon. I can't wait to have Ice Cream Fest #2 with Penny! We're going to have it at Island Creamery...probably one of the places that sell the best ice cream avaliable in Singapore!

I think my standard of English is getting worse by the day. I find myself to be increasingly using awkward expressions and speaking Singlish like crazy and it worries me. I'm not able to use my powerful words in my GP essays as I used to in secondary school. Not only that my rephrasing skill sucks now and I find myself using the same expressions over and over again like "On top of that", "Furthermore" blah blah blah. No wonder my language component is so lousy. Grrr it's so irritating when you know you can do well but just can't seem to. An A grade is so near but yet so far...and hard to obtain.
