New Toys!

A few moments ago, I was sitting in my room looking around when I had a sudden realisation. Over the past few months, I've been buying and accumulating quite a number of gadgets and electronics! I think I have a new found interest in them. I keep reading reviews and I want to buy so many! If only I had the money, ah well. Anyway, here are a few new stuff that I bought and I love playing with them.

First off, we have the classic iPod touch which I have began to depend on heavily for my music and entertainment. The part I love best about the iPod Touch is it's ability to access the internet! No longer do I need to turn on the computer to use it. Yipee! I bought my 8GB iPod Touch for $308 during the Comex Fair in 2009, last year.

Next, we have my new speaker system! Finally I have speakers that are able to play tracks at their higest quality. It's an Altec Lansing VS2421 that I bought at Comex last year too. The best part is that I got it at a steal. Only $69!!! It's original price was $89 but since all of them were sold out by the time I decided to buy it, the sales person offered me the display set. Even though, it had a dent at the side, I'm not complaining! it still looks brand new and plays awesome quality music.

Thirdly, we have my favourite product, my new laptop, the HP Pavilion DM3-1023TX. It comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, an Intel Core Duo Processor at 2.26GHz, an Nvidia GeForce G 105M 512MB DDR3-800 VRAM, 4GB Ram and a 500GB HDD. I bought this at Harvey Norman in January for $1599. It's sleek, slim, shiny, had a Mac-style keyboard and best of all, is fingerprint and scratch-proof! From now on, I shall get notebooks that have metal, and only metal casings. The battery life's great, I've spent over 4 hours on this baby before and it still has juice left! I love love love it. The only thing I regret is buying it so early. I knew I should have waited until the PC Show to get it! It was selling at only $1299 with 100 free songs! :(

I did get a few freebies though so I guess that kind of makes up for the $300 lost but not a lot. I did like the freebies though. I got a Genius notebook cooling fan the NB 100 which I think is great. It's small, portable and quiet. It also doesn't have those irritating lights that you see on those cheapo transparent cooling fans.
On top of that, I got a Sensonic Glaser Mouse G30.

A Toshiba 4GB Thumb Drive

A pair of Sensonic S22+ speakers which are...ok I guess, though I hardly use it, a set of crappy Sensonic Headphones, and of course, a complimentary HP laptop bag.
In the period between the buying of my laptop and the PC Show, I couldn't resist buying something so I decided to spend money on a portable USB wireless N adapter, a D-Link DWA-130 for my PC which is not connected to the internet. It costs me $37 in Harvey Norman so I guess that's quite ok. And then the PC Show came, so I went to buy more stuff! It's about time I bought a new camera so I decided to look for good deals. I ended up buying a Canon Ixus 120 IS for $439 which in my opinion, looks great and takes excellent pictures. Black was sold out so I had to settle for second best, Brown. I wanted to get the Canon S90 though but it was way out of my family's budget, at over $700 so we had to settle for something more affordable. Either way, I'm happy I've got a new camera. I look forward to take loads of good quality pics when I'm in Shanghai at the end of this week.

The camera came with an extra battery, an extra Pen Drive 8GB memory card, free casing, a cool laptop bag and a huge calculator that has minimalist look. Feels great to touch, perfect for my mother!
Last but not least, I also got myself a new Imation Venus 320GB Hard Disk Drive at the PC Show. It was selling at a good price too, $79 down from $89 on the 2nd last day of the fair.

As you can probably tell, I'm very satisfied with my new toys! I'm pleased they have good reviews too! :D

Ha... it's kind of funny how I found your blog. I was looking for some pictures of Warwick Avenue (in London) and your bench picture from the top showed up in the results, so I thought I'd check out your blog.

I know what you mean about the S90.. it's pretty sweet. The problem with the newest generation of Canon point-n-shoots is that they don't improve. They have that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude. While Panasonic, Sony even Samsung and Nikon (who in my opinion still holds the fort down in the DSLR category) are continuing forward. Canon has yet to turn out a decent mirror-less 3/4 camera!

Ah, that was such a pointless rant. Anyways, I enjoy reading. I hope I didn't intrude too much.
